How to use PayShap in South Africa

PayShap is a recently launched digital payment solution that provides a simple and rapid means of sending and receiving payments. With PayShap, you can receive instant payments directly in your bank account from anyone, irrespective of their bank. Whether you need to send or receive a payment urgently, PayShap has got you covered. You can now make or receive instant payments of up to R3000 per transaction using either a bank-registered cellphone number (ShapID) or bank account information. Simply look for the PayShap icon in your banking app and follow the prompts. In this guide, we’ll be explaining how to use PayShap at the various banks in South Africa. Hopefully, we’ll see PayShap coming to South African betting sites in the future!

How PayShap Works

PayShap allows you to simplify the payment process by providing your registered cellphone number (known as ShapID) instead of sharing your bank account information when receiving payments. In addition, you can easily make payments to someone else using their ShapID.

Do you have accounts with multiple banks? Not an issue. You can set up several ShapIDs at different banks. To ensure payments go to the correct bank account, make sure to provide the full ShapID, which includes both your cellphone number and the name of your bank. Regardless of the payment method you use, your funds are transferred instantly with PayShap.
