Lucky Fish has launched a new casino welcome offer for South African players, giving new customers a 100% First Deposit Match Bonus of up to R1,000. The new promotion applies to qualifying first deposits made from 28 August 2026 and replaces the previous Deposit R100 and Receive 50 Bonus Spins offer.
The offer is fairly simple. Make your first ever Lucky Fish deposit of at least R100 and Lucky Fish will match the qualifying deposit by 100%, up to a maximum bonus of R1,000. There is a 20x wagering requirement attached to the offer and you have seven days to complete it, so it’s important to understand how the promotion works before making your first deposit.
Lucky Fish now has three main welcome offers for new players, including an R50 Bonus for new sign-ups, 50 Bonus Spins on Hot Hot Fruit and the new 100% First Deposit Match Bonus up to R1,000.
How the Lucky Fish 100% Deposit Match Works
The new promotion is available to eligible Lucky Fish players making their first ever deposit. You’ll need to deposit at least R100 to qualify, with Lucky Fish matching 100% of your qualifying deposit up to R1,000.
- Deposit R100 and you can qualify for a R100 bonus. Deposit R250 and you can qualify for R250, while a R500 first deposit can qualify for a R500 bonus.
- To receive the maximum bonus, you’ll need to make a qualifying first deposit of R1,000. Lucky Fish will then match this with a R1,000 bonus.
- Depositing more than R1,000 won’t increase the promotional amount. For example, if your first deposit is R2,000 or R5,000, the bonus will still be capped at R1,000.
According to the promotion terms, qualifying first deposits must be made from 28 August 2026 onwards. Accounts created before 1 March 2026 aren’t eligible for the First Time Deposit Bonus.
How to Claim the Lucky Fish First Deposit Bonus
To qualify for the offer, you must be an eligible Lucky Fish player making your first ever deposit. Here’s how to claim it:
- Register an account at www.luckyfish.co.za using promo code SPIN50 and complete any required account verification.
- Make your first ever deposit of at least R100.
- Lucky Fish will match your qualifying deposit 100%, up to a maximum bonus of R1,000.
- Complete the 20x wagering requirement within seven days to unlock the bonus funds.
For example, deposit R100 to qualify for a R100 bonus, R500 for R500, or R1,000 for the maximum R1,000 bonus. Need help getting started? Check out our Lucky Fish Register guide. Already registered? Lucky Fish Deposit Bonus Wagering Requirements
This is the most important part of the promotion to understand. The Lucky Fish First Deposit Bonus comes with a 20x wagering requirement, which the promotion terms calculate against your qualifying deposit. For example, if you make a R100 qualifying deposit, you’ll need to complete R2,000 in qualifying wagering. A R250 deposit requires R5,000 in wagering, while a R500 deposit requires R10,000. If you deposit R1,000 to qualify for the maximum R1,000 bonus, you’ll need to complete R20,000 in qualifying wagering.
This is important because a bigger first deposit gives you a bigger potential bonus, but it also increases the amount you’ll need to wager. Players have seven days from the date of their first deposit to complete the wagering requirement.
According to the promotion terms, the bonus funds are held in the Casino Bonus Wallet and remain locked until the wagering requirements have been fulfilled. Once the requirements are successfully completed, the bonus funds are transferred to your Available Funds balance, subject to Lucky Fish’s normal withdrawal and verification requirements. Making a withdrawal request before completing the wagering requirement will result in the bonus funds being forfeited.
Which Lucky Fish Games Count Towards the 20x Wagering?
Not every casino game contributes equally towards the Lucky Fish wagering requirement, so it’s important to check what you’re playing.
- Slots, Scratchcards, Slingo and Bingo contribute 100% towards the wagering requirement. This means R100 wagered on an eligible slot contributes R100 towards the required wagering.
- Instant Games, Blackjack, Gameshows and Card Games only contribute 20%. If you wager R100 on one of these eligible games, only R20 would count towards the wagering requirement.
- Roulette, Lucky Draw, Poker and Crash games contribute 0%. All other games not included as qualifying games also have a 0% contribution.
For most casino and slots players, eligible slots are therefore the most straightforward way to work through the wagering requirement because they have a 100% contribution. Always check that the game you’re playing qualifies before assuming your wagering is contributing towards the promotion.

How Long Do You Have to Complete the Lucky Fish Bonus?
Lucky Fish provides a seven-day wagering grace period from the date of your first deposit. Any wagering requirements need to be completed within the applicable promotional period and grace period. If you don’t complete the required wagering in time, unused bonus funds and incomplete bonus wagering will be forfeited.
Expired bonuses won’t be reinstated. This is worth considering when deciding how much to deposit. A R1,000 first deposit gives you access to the maximum R1,000 bonus, but it also means completing R20,000 in qualifying wagering within the required period.
You don’t necessarily need to deposit R1,000 just because that’s the maximum available. Choose a first deposit amount that suits how you normally play and the wagering you’re comfortable completing.
Can You Withdraw the Lucky Fish Deposit Bonus?
Not immediately. The bonus funds are non-withdrawable while the wagering requirement remains outstanding. Lucky Fish states that the bonus funds have no cash value until they’re fully unlocked. Once you’ve successfully completed the wagering requirements, the bonus funds are transferred to your Available Funds balance. From there, they remain subject to Lucky Fish’s standard withdrawal rules, verification checks and any applicable cash turnover requirements. If you request a withdrawal before completing the wagering requirement, you’ll forfeit the bonus funds.
Lucky Fish Welcome Offers
The new First Deposit Match isn’t the only promotion available to new Lucky Fish players. There are currently three main welcome offers to look at.
R50 Bonus for New Sign-Ups
Lucky Fish currently offers an R50 Bonus for qualifying new sign-ups. This is separate from the new First Deposit Match promotion and gives new players another welcome offer to consider when joining.
50 Bonus Spins on Hot Hot Fruit
Lucky Fish also has 50 Bonus Spins on Hot Hot Fruit, one of the most popular online slots among South African players. We’ve covered this promotion separately on The Gambler, including how the offer works and what new players need to do to qualify for the Hot Hot Fruit Bonus Spins.
100% First Deposit Match up to R1,000
The newest addition is the 100% First Deposit Match covered in this guide. Make a qualifying first deposit of at least R100 and Lucky Fish will match the deposit by 100%, up to a maximum bonus of R1,000. This promotion replaces the previous Lucky Fish offer where players could Deposit R100 and Receive 50 Bonus Spins.
Is the Lucky Fish R1,000 Deposit Bonus Worth It?
The 100% match is an interesting addition to Lucky Fish’s welcome offers, particularly for players who were already planning on making their first deposit. The minimum qualifying deposit is only R100, so you don’t need to deposit R1,000 to participate. The promotion scales with your deposit, meaning you can choose an amount that better suits how you normally play.
The main thing we’d pay attention to is the wagering requirement. A 20x requirement against the qualifying deposit means a R1,000 deposit requires R20,000 in qualifying wagering. You also have seven days from your first deposit to complete the requirement. The game contribution rates matter as well. Eligible slots contribute 100%, while some other casino games contribute only 20% and several categories don’t contribute at all.
From what we’ve seen testing these offers, the biggest headline bonus isn’t necessarily the right option for every player. We’d choose a first deposit based on what you’re comfortable depositing and wagering rather than depositing R1,000 simply because that’s the maximum bonus available.
Important Lucky Fish Bonus Rules
- Only players aged 18 or older with an eligible active Lucky Fish account can participate. The promotion is for a player’s first ever qualifying deposit, and accounts created before 1 March 2026 aren’t eligible.
- Only one active bonus may be used at a time, and bonuses are processed on a FIFO, or First-In, First-Out, basis.
- Lucky Fish can also request FICA documentation before awarding a promotional bonus. Duplicate accounts, syndicate betting, suspicious activity or attempts to manipulate the wagering requirements can result in the bonus being removed.
- The complete Lucky Fish promotional terms should always be checked before claiming the offer, as promotions and their conditions can change.

The Gambler’s Thoughts
The new 100% First Deposit Match gives Lucky Fish another strong welcome option alongside its R50 sign-up bonus and 50 Bonus Spins on Hot Hot Fruit. We like that the promotion starts with a relatively accessible R100 minimum deposit and scales all the way up to a R1,000 match. Eligible slots also contribute 100% towards the wagering requirement, which makes the offer relatively straightforward for players who mainly play slots.
The main thing to consider is the 20x wagering requirement and seven-day time limit. A bigger deposit gives you a bigger potential bonus, but it also increases the amount you’ll need to wager before the bonus is unlocked. For that reason, we’d recommend choosing a deposit amount you’re comfortable wagering rather than depositing R1,000 simply to claim the maximum bonus.
