Interbet is one South African bookie that has been on the market for a while. They opened their services in 2001 and have historically provided solid services since then. The bookie is legally registered with the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board, allowing them to offer services to punters credibly. Some likeable features of this bookie include a significant choice of not only sports but other betting options such as games and numbers. In this article, we take a detailed look at this bookie, its services, sports options, and transaction methods. We will mostly look at it from a mobile perspective considering its popularity these days.
The desktop landing page
The Interbet landing bet is not the most impressive that you would get (one would almost have a similar feeling with Hollywoodbets) but let that not fool you as the page is very fast to navigate through. The home page is very minimalistic, and from the top section of the page, one can access various menus including the sports, tab, numbers, live games, and other options. The customer chat function is easily accessible from the top right of the page. The midsection of the landing page however leaves a lot to be desired. Whilst it contains links to options such as live bets, sports, loyalty programs, and others, the font and design used here is poor, and we hope to see Interbet improving from this.
Interbet offers a responsive mobile site that changes size in accordance with the device in use. They also offer a mobi site that is best optimised for mobile usage. Whilst it is very fast to navigate through the mobile site of Interbet, there certainly needs to be an improvement in the design and layout of the icons and menus. You can easily access the menu options from the top section of the screen, which will lead you to select options such as Tote, horseracing, and many others.
As is with the desktop page, the midsection of the responsive site’s home page contains a font that appears to be small. An area of improvement that we hope to see Interbet working on. You will however get bet results when you make use of the mobi site, interbet.mobi as it is quite well optimised for mobile usage. We could not find any link to an Interbet mobile app for any operating system during the time of preparation of this review.
Interbet sadly comes short in this regard. We could not find any running promotions that have become a common offering by most bookies. One would feel that there would certainly be room for improvement in the quality of promotions if Interbet is to compete with other renowned bookies on the market. The top promotional offer a R25 refer a friend bonus for each friend who opens an account through your referral.
The referral would need to FICA and make a minimum deposit of R25 within 7 days. Other than this, Interbet also offers a loyalty program that involves the awarding of rewards for various types of betting. These points may then be redeemed for betting credits in units of 1000, or its multiples at a time.
Interbet offers a fairly wide number of sports betting options and their markets. You can find sports betting options on major sports such as Horse racing, basketball, cricket, soccer, motorsport, and many others. It doesn’t end there, there is an added assortment of other betting options including Tote, live games, soccer six, Tab, and numbers which are as usual based on real lotteries. Concerning soccer, they offer a somewhat moderate assortment of markets, which slightly fall short of what is commonly offered on other big bookies in South Africa.
We would also like to see Interbet offering bet builder options as well and cash out facility for minimising losses in the event of changing game circumstances. The odds are however somewhat competitive with most local bookies.
Registration with Interbet
The process of registering with Interbet is very simple. From the top half of the home screen, one can easily access the register button which leads to forms that require the entering of personal and FICA details.
Navigation and placement of bets on Interbet are not too complicated at all. You can easily navigate through the various sports options through the menu button that is located on top of the screen. These available options include live dealer games, Tote, Soccer 6, and many others. To place bets, one has to select their desired market then proceed to place their stake through a bet slip that is available from the bottom of the screen. The minimum stake you can place is R10. Interbet also gives a quick guideline of the maximum bet limits for each type of bet.
Interbet is also quite good at catering for the diverse type of market through several deposit options including EFT, Bank deposits, ATM deposits, zapper, VISA and Mastercard, 1 voucher, OTT Voucher, or even through a cheque (even if they are becoming less popular).
The Gamblers Verdict
Interbet presents a fairly good bookie that offers a very wide selection of sports and betting options including horse racing, live games, and Tab games. Additionally, they also have a link to an exchange forum that can be utilised by some experienced punters to increase their profitability. There is a very wide number of options for making deposits, which should be sufficient enough to cater to a wide customer base.
Interbet brings in years of sportsbook experience which should enhance the confidence of many punters out there. We however hope to see them improving on the design and layout of both desktop and mobile pages. Whilst they have an exiting program for offering rewards to existing customers, we would like to see them offering more welcome bonuses to attract new customers in a world where most bookies offer such. This bookie is recommended for those who want to experience a variety of betting options, whilst in the comfort of using a reputable bookie.
